Program Coodinator

Josh Nelson

 Josh Nelson has been involved in WGI and drum corps for the last 20 years. An active teacher, arranger, visual designer, adjudicator, and clinician. Josh is the driving force behind Music City Mystique, 8-time WGI World Champion percussion ensemble (Nashville, TN). He has been involved with McM since 2000 and held the role of Executive Director since 2006.  In addition to his role at McM he also serves as percussion director at Stewart's Creek middle and high school in Smyrna, TN.       Josh holds a Music Education degree from East Tennessee State University where he studied under Dr. Rande Sanderbeck. He lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Meagan and their two dogs Obi and Porkchop.

Mark Hunter

 Mark is an accomplished percussionist, composer, and educator that excels in the marching arts.  A native of Chicago, he began his percussion education under Bret Kuhn. As a student of James Campbell at The University of Kentucky, Mark performed in a number of the University's ensembles, including the percussion ensemble that won the prestigious Percussive Arts Society Collegiate Percussion Ensemble Contest two times during Mark's tenure.  Outside of his college studies, he marched snare with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (97-2000), during which time the group was awarded two high percussion awards and a World Championship.  Upon graduation from The University of Kentucky with a MFA in 2004, Mark won an audition with the Tony and Emmy Award-winning show, Blast!, and toured Japan as the show's marimba soloist.    Mark is the Battery Caption Head for The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.  He has previously worked with The Mandarins, Phantom Regiment, Spirit of Atlanta, and The Colts.  Mark also taught Music City Mystique from 2012-2016.    Mark resides in Atlanta, Georgia where, in addition to arranging for many others groups across the Southeast, his writing has been published in the Blue Book, a Tapspace Publication.

Sean Womack

  Sean Womack  is an freelance percussion educator, clinican, and arranger based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the co-founder and former partner of DoubleStop Percussion L.L.C., a percussion education company in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Womack received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Georgia. He is a former staff member of Spirit of Atlanta, Phantom Regiment, Mandarins, and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He is an active arranger and designer  and is in demand as an adjudicator throughout the country. Mr. Womack holds membership in the Percussive Arts Society, the National Association for Music Education, and the Georgia Music Educators Association and is endorsed by Innovative Percussion, Pearl Drums, Adams Musical Instruments, and Remo Drumheads.

Matthew Howell

 Matthew Howell, a native of Memphis, TN, has been an active IN THE MARCHING ARTS 1997. His performance credentials include membership within World Class organizations in both WGI and DCI including Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps and Gateway Indoor. Matthew also performed in the University of Memphis PASIC Marching ensembles in 2004 and 2006 and was a charter member of the Nation Basketball Associations’ (NBA) Memphis Grizzlies Drumline.   Matthew has worked with multiple World Class organizations including Gateway Indoor, Tyler Junior College Indoor,  Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps. Palmetto Percussion, and Monarch Indoor Percussion (Houston, Texas). Matthew was most recently the percussion director, visual designer, and program coordinator for the scholastic world north shore high school in Houston, TX.   Matthew is currently the Percussion Director for Alpharetta high school in Alpharetta, Georgia and on percussion staff at Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He is an active percussion arranger, clinician, and visual designer for marching bands, winter guards and indoor percussion ensembles across the United States and China.

Design Coordinator

Zach Schlicher

 Zach Schlicher began his drum corps career with The Cadets in 2001. Upon aging out in 2004, he began teaching the snare line at the Madison Scouts. After two seasons with the Scouts, he moved to be on the faculty of Carolina Crown for the next ten years. Away from the drum corps field, Zach works with several scholastic and independent programs within BOA and WGI. Over the last twelve years, he has developed a unique set of skills which allow him to take on multiple responsibilities and roles with any ensemble. Zach studied percussion at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Presently, he resides in Indianapolis, IN, but travels to work with multiple programs within North America. Along with his design/instruction commitments, Zach occasionally performs on cast with Aerial Experience Productions and has performed with Blue Devils Entertainment. He has also been featured on VicFirth.com in the video lesson series “Hybrid Rudiments.” Zach is endorsed by Vic Firth and Evans Drumheads.
